So, it’s farewell to Bermuda. Lovely place.
A really relaxing stay underpinned by genuinely friendly people. Pretty much everyone has a good morning for you. On my walks around residential areas people doing their Gardens will make a point of stopping and waving.
Hopping on and off the bus network, you get to see quite a bit. Bus drivers turning a blind eye to people who clearly have neither a pass nor cash. People falling over themselves to give up their seats for elderly or infirm. There was even an incident at Hamilton central bus station where the bus driver hauled all the students who had rushed on the bus, off again and made them wait until everyone else had got aboard.
I also overheard this – Bus driver to elderly passenger just boarding.
“There’s a seat here at the front, these fine students will sort one out for you”, at which the lady driver simply looked at them with ‘that look’, several students then scuttled to the back of the bus.
There’s some old school respect and attitudes here, you can smell it in the air.
It’s somewhat expensive, a typical lunch for the two of us – a salad, a burger and a couple of beers is around $64. Getting around is great once you can track down a bus pass, busses go everywhere, and are running until late.
We now have 3 hours to Miami, then another 6 on to L.A. Which is more than I thought.
Hollywood awaits…………..
No Chris you just didn’t listen when Joan was telling you the timing of flights!✈️✈️✈️😎
Of course I didn’t
