We have seen a lot of markets on this trip, but this has to be the best of the bunch by a long way. We visited the first time as part of our cookery course with the chef talking us through the food sections of the market.
Seafood was literally jumping out of the pans.
Our guide, the chef described at length how fresh everything was. The butchery section – no fridges, no flies and no smell of any sort. All meat sold there is slaughtered the previous day, and if not sold goes for mince. Nothing is ever sold a day old as no-one will buy it.
