Whoa – probably the most touristy place we have visited. Pretty much the entirety of the village of Ao Nang is given over to tourism.
Krabi itself seems to be a fairly quiet Thai town. We are staying in the village of Ao Nang. Short walk from the hotel is Ao Nang Beach.
Lots of trips available on Longtail boats, to all sorts of destinations, including James Bond Island. Unfortunately we were in chill out mode, and after all the boats in Vietnam no trips for us.
Luckily the resort we had was very nice to chill out in, and happy hour came around soon enough.
Rather than a favourite bar this time we recruited a favourite restaurant – Cheap Cheap. Massaman to die for.
As for Au Nang, nice place overall.
After the traffic in Vietnam it’s very tame here, we have nearly got run over a few times as we were still in the Vietnam – just step out in front of anything mode.
Opposite the hotel entrance was a mosque, this was lit up at night and the lights constantly changes colours – very funky for a mosque!
We had a spectacular storm – rain thunder lightning pretty much every night.
