Cruising the Mekong Delta

From our hotel in Saigon, it’s a 4 hour drive all the way down to Can Tho where we check in to a Bassac boat for an overnight on the Mekong Delta

The Mekong Delta – one things for sure, this place is full of life.

A spot of lunch

The Mekong delta is a proper working river, there are a couple of tourist boats like ours but not many. All manner of goods are being trafficked up and down the river. Commuter ferries are all over the place as people are commuting on ferries  across the river. Ferries are geared up for motorbikes. Naturally there are all manner of fishermen.

The way fully laden boats sat in the water was amazing.

We disembarked the boat and into a rowing boat for a trip down some narrow canals.

A small floating market at Can Be, not as big as the one at Can Tho and this one apparently is wholesale only!
