Only a 5 hour flight in to Auckland, early 4.30AM start but that’s just fine, however time has now gone crazy.
In Tahiti we were 10 hours behind the U.K. During the flight I set my watch 1 hour forward, but also 1 day forward, so we are now 13 hours in front of the UK – we lost an entire day!
Sadly our connecting flight to Christchurch was delayed so we had to make the best of the situation……………….
Auckland Airport
Finally got to Christchurch, had a bit of a result with a free Avis hire car upgrade!
In Christchurch we were staying with friends – Sue and Rob – Thank you so much! Got to their house a little late because of the flight delay, so straight down their local which brew their own beer for dinner with them and some of their friends. Great night, but a long, long day. Slept like a log.

Geat incident in the pub.
One of Rob’s friends (name will be withheld to protect the innocent) left early and also left his hat and phone in the pub. He called Rob while we were still there and asked if he could drop them off the next day, we then found his phone and naturally proceeded to see if we could get into it……..ooh there was no passcode.
We sent him a message saying hello from his phone, the response – ‘I hope there are no photo’s of me bits on there’.
We then took a selfie of us all and set it as the screensaver. No-one opened the photos app.
