By Bye and long life Rarotonga. Lovely place.
We have had a great time in Rarotonga, even if the weather did go a little south on us for part of the trip. If you have an urge to go to a Pacific island I would strongly recommend going here. This is our second one on this trip.
There is such a fantastic mixture of tourism and locals here which is totally harmonious, you go to bars and markets and there is a great mixture of both. I think I would put this down to the way land ownership works here. You simply cannot buy up land regardless of how much money you have – locals always own all the land.
And of course, not to forget, how can you not love a place who employs someone to serenade every flight arrival and departure!
This wonderful gentleman went from a traditional Polynesian song right in to.
“You’re leaving on a jet plane, don’t know when you’ll be back again”
