A quick 30 min flight from Maui to Oahu, and you could be in a different country.
Just leaving Maui.
Mahalo Maui
It was an early start, and on the drive in sun was rising over Maui. The taxi driver asked if we had enjoyed our stay, we said we had and it was a beautiful island, he then said thank you in a way that suggested he was genuinely proud of the island and took it as a personal compliment. We said we were off to Oahu, he said ‘Oh, very busy there’. He was not wrong.
So friendly was he that when we arrived in Oahu we were greeted by a text message from him.
How Lovely
Trying to save a bit of cash we took a bus in to Waikiki, about an hour or so, complete with telling off from the bus driver for having suitcases.
We are just off Waikiki beach, no view of the beach itself from the room but glorious view of the hills. Oahu is busy, very busy. Bit of a result with the hotel, we had a free upgrade to a suite so we have a couple of extra beds of anyone is passing.
Anyhow. A quick bag drop then off for Lunch at ‘Cheeseburger in Paradise’
